For e.g. if a book has a numbering like 9780553176988(ISBN 0-553-17698-6)-how to get the cost price of this book from the above numbers?

Reply:Not the answer I was looking for... anyway Thanks. Report It

Reply:You can't. Each store will have its own pricing, and its own sales. The UPC barcode tells the store's computer exactly which product this is; the store's computer looks to see what the current price or sale price for that item is. The store's manager can go to the computer and change that price as needed - so if they have a one-day sale on a certain book, for example, they don't have to put a new price sticker on every single book, they just change the entry in the computer and the new price automatically comes up when the book is scanned.
Reply:You can but not from ISBN directly, you need an additional barcoded number called price-add-on. See how both work together on this site: http://www.BarcodeRobot.com/isbn-13.html
